The Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to a research project focused on developing customer development capabilities for start-ups. This project aims to investigate and increase the effectiveness of training and support provided to start-ups, with a focus on the customer development process.
Research Objectives- To develop a framework for customer development capability
- To develop and test a scale to monitor this capability
- To develop and test a training module to improve this capability
The study will be based on insights gained from literature that has investigated how new ventures learn to leverage new technology in the marketplace successfully. The research will involve a literature study, review of training and coaching modules, design criteria development, scale adaptation, intervention study, and interpretation of results.
Requirements- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Business, or a relevant field
- Strong affinity for interdisciplinary research and collaboration with industry/start-ups
- Strong analytical skills, including multivariate statistics and quantitative modeling
- Ability to model complex business situations in a theory-driven model or framework
- Socially skilled, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
The PhD position is located in the Innovation Technology & Marketing (ITEM) group within the Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences. The university offers a dynamic and ambitious work environment, with opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
