The Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking talented PhD candidates to join our research team in the field of hydrogen energy. Our team is part of the HyUSE project, a public-private partnership that brings together 8 universities, 5 universities of applied sciences, 3 research institutes, and 14 industrial partners.
We are looking for outstanding PhD candidates with an M.Sc. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field. The successful candidates will have a background and/or interest in thermofluids engineering and combustion applications, and a good command of the English language.
The PhD positions will focus on the application of H2 in Internal Combustion Engines and on the modeling of H2 combustion and NOx formation. The research will involve the design and testing of pre-chamber technology for H2-ICE engines, as well as the development of computational models for the numerical simulation of H2 combustion processes and the prediction of NOx emissions.
The successful candidates will work in an interdisciplinary setting and within an international network. They will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including engines and optical equipment, and will be part of a dynamic and ambitious university.
The conditions of employment include full-time employment for four years, with an intermediate evaluation after nine months. The salary and benefits will be in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale P.
