This role is pivotal in supporting the EU's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by enhancing renewable electricity generation, particularly from wind and solar sources.
Project Objectives
The primary focus of this research will be on the integration of renewable hydrogen production systems within the Dutch Transmission System. Key objectives include:
- Developing models to assess harmonic emissions produced by various power converter technologies used in hydrogen electrolyzers, while considering different operational scenarios influenced by renewable energy generation and grid conditions.
- Creating innovative methodologies for evaluating the dynamic risk levels associated with grid-following and LCC-based converter integrations.
- Identifying corrective strategies to meet connection standards, ensuring the long-term security of the power supply.
Qualifications
- A PhD in power electronics or a related field.
- Proven ability to conduct high-caliber academic research, evidenced by a relevant doctoral thesis and/or publications.
- Experience in modeling grid-following converters and large-scale power electronics systems.
- A proactive mindset with a strong ambition to innovate in power system analysis methodologies.
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication and leadership skills; knowledge of Dutch is not required.
- A collaborative spirit, capable of thriving in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.
