About the Role
Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, is seeking an Operations Engineer TEM to join our Materials and Structural Analysis Division in Eindhoven. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient introduction and sustainability of advanced TEM modules into our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the factory to ensure timely shipment of high-quality systems to customers.
- Support factory and field service engineers with the installation and upgrade of newly introduced systems and modules.
- Solve sophisticated problems and ensure system specifications are met.
- Support or lead NPI projects according to the Product Management Process and Operations improvement projects.
- Craft and maintain work instructions and define the way of working (factory process flow).
- Perform hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and training of personnel as required.
- Work closely with suppliers to tackle technical/quality issues and support the introduction of new parts and modules from suppliers into manufacturing.
- Submit or implement engineering changes to improve quality, manufacturability, and costs of components/modules.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge and/or experience with electron microscopy being a significant advantage.
- A degree in a technical field such as engineering or physics is required, or a combination of engineering education and meaningful work experience that demonstrates required skills.
- Experience in project management, with the ability to cope with the dynamics in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent English language skills (verbal and in writing), with Dutch being a significant plus.
- A collaborative teammate with a pragmatic approach.
