About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The successful candidate will conduct ethnographic research on the impact of robots on work, focusing on the development and use of robotics in various work settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct ethnographic studies of robotics in work settings, exploring how robots are developed and used in different contexts.
  • Perform ethnographic fieldwork, conduct literature reviews, and write empirical research papers for conferences and journals.
  • Contribute to teaching and collaborate with industry partners to disseminate research findings.
Requirements
  • PhD in Business Administration, Management, Sociology, or a related social science field.
  • Strong experience with qualitative inductive research methods and ethnographic research.
  • Excellent academic skills, demonstrated through publications or conference papers.
  • Motivation to conduct high-quality qualitative research.
  • Ability to combine creative and analytical thinking.
  • Flexible and communicative skills to collaborate with industry partners.
  • Excellent English language skills; Dutch language proficiency is an advantage.
