ERC Starting Grant PhD Researcher in Multiple Jobholding

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to join our ERC Starting Grant project on multiple jobholding. The project aims to understand the quality and consequences of working multiple jobs, and we are looking for a researcher who can contribute to this exciting and innovative research.

About the Project

The ERC Starting Grant project "Moonlighting: Understanding the quality and consequences of working multiple jobs [MOONLIGHT]" is a cutting-edge research project that studies the quality of work and wellbeing of contemporary multiple jobholders. The project will rely on new comparative cross-national and dynamic data, and the researcher will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of data sources and methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on multiple jobholding and its consequences for workers' wellbeing
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources, including surveys and app data
  • Write research articles and a PhD dissertation
  • Present research results at national and international conferences and workshops
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a social or behavioural science, such as sociology, economics, psychology, or a related field
  • Excellent research skills and a strong motivation to enhance these skills
  • Collaborative, team-minded, and pro-active attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
What We Offer

We offer a stimulating and teamwork-oriented environment, with the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge research project. We are committed to offering tailor-made and careful supervision, with the main aim of allowing you to grow and flourish academically and professionally.

We offer an employment contract for one year with a probationary period of two months. The appointment will be extended for another three years upon favorable evaluation. The employment contract is for 38 hours a week. Your salary ranges from € 2. (in year 1) to € 3. (in year 4) gross per month on the basis of a full working week of 38 hours. This sum does not include the 8% holiday allowance and the 8.3% year-end allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) is applicable.
