Postdoctoral Researcher in Green Technologies for Digital Research Infrastructures

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Universiteit van Amsterdam. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research group focused on developing innovative solutions for green and low environmental impact digital research infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research on green and low environmental impact digital research infrastructures, with a focus on developing innovative solutions for energy efficiency and scientific workflow optimization.
- Collaborate with senior and junior researchers to design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and develop new research methods.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of cloud-based big data platforms and services, cloud-based development processes, and DevOps/SRE tools.
- Contribute to the development of teaching programs in the department, incorporating research results and expertise.
- Participate in publications and dissemination activities, including writing research papers and presenting at conferences.
- PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in machine learning and data analytics, with experience in developing applications and tools.
- Excellent knowledge of cloud-based big data platforms and services, cloud-based development processes, and DevOps/SRE tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- A temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week for a period of 36 months.
- A gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranging between €3,000 and €5,000.
- An extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
- The possibility to set up a workplace at home.
- A pension at ABP, with the university paying two-thirds of the contribution.
- The possibility to follow courses to learn Dutch.
- Help with housing for a studio or small apartment when moving from abroad.
