Job Title: Assistant Manager (Events and Marketing)

The Communications and Public Affairs Office (CPAO) of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Manager (Events and Marketing) to enhance the University's reputation through branding, events, digital communications, media relations, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Assistant Director and Senior Manager/Manager in developing and executing effective events, marketing strategy, and community engagement plans.
  • Formulate and implement effective events, marketing strategy, and community engagement plans to promote University initiatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage a wide range of University events, including Congregation, Honorary University Fellowships, Honorary Degree ceremonies, lectures, and forums.
  • Develop and execute publicity plans for events.
  • Engage vendors to prepare events marketing materials, including brochures, booklets, invitations, and events video highlights.
  • Plan and coordinate project schedules, manage procurement processes to commission third-party service providers for various University initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage third-party filming on campus.
Requirements:
  • A good University degree in Marketing, Communications, or a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in events management or marketing.
  • An excellent command of English and Chinese.
  • A good command of PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for liaison with internal Faculties and vendors.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize different assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and resource planning skills.
  • The ability to manage fast-moving projects and collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams in a complicated environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Value integrity, teamwork, and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service.
  • Experience in Higher Education and Service sectors is a plus.
  • Excellent command of web technologies, social media platform trends, data analytics for marketing.
  • Willingness to work outside regular work hours and on duty roster.
Compensation and Benefits:

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
