As a Senior Software Architect at Philips Healthcare, you will be instrumental in shaping the modular software architecture for our Positioning Software Department. This role involves leading concept studies and influencing the advancement of innovative technologies for robotic subsystems in interventional X-ray systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute significantly to the innovation of clinical products by supporting the development of new clinical solutions and platforms, utilizing the latest software technologies and resources. You will be a proactive, quality-focused, results-oriented team player dedicated to continuous improvement in processes and tools. Define and guide the software technical roadmap in alignment with overarching technology strategies (e.g., model-driven development, operating systems, EtherCAT, etc.) and application trends. Ensure consistency in design decisions, manage shared resource budgeting, oversee software interfaces across projects, and take responsibility for implementing architecture in modular, maintainable, and extensible components. Collaborate with a highly motivated international cross-functional R&D team. Your local team operates in The Netherlands, and you will engage with software teams globally, fostering a multidisciplinary approach where flexibility is essential. The Positioning Software Department comprises 35-40 highly skilled software engineers focused on developing robotic subsystems for interventional X-ray systems.Ideal Candidate Profile:
A master's degree in Software Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field. Over 10 years of experience in real-time embedded software development, with at least 3 years in a Software Architect role leading multiple software teams. Strong abstraction skills, maintaining a high-level overview while being capable of delving into details to analyze and resolve issues as necessary. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create clear architectural overviews and roadmaps, effectively conveying ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Recognized for being hands-on and knowledgeable about modern software technologies (e.g., latest C++ versions, DSL, Coco, Linux). Bonus qualifications include experience in a mechatronics environment and familiarity with regulated industries. About Philips
