About this position

TNO is seeking a highly motivated student to conduct research on the effects of high power electromagnetic (HPEM) radiation on RF components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electromagnetics and integrated circuits, as well as experience with performing measurements on RF systems in a lab environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Research the impact of HPEM on RF components, including the effects of frequency, pulse shape, and pulse repetition frequency
  • Develop theoretical models to predict the effects of HPEM on RF components
  • Conduct experiments to validate the theoretical models
  • Compare the effects of different IC technologies on RF components

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Background in electromagnetics and integrated circuits
  • Affinity with different IC technologies and their properties
  • Affinity with RF front ends
  • Strong theoretical basis
  • Experience with performing measurements on RF systems in a lab environment
