About this research position
TNO is seeking a student to investigate the effects of high power electromagnetic (HPEM) radiation on RF components. The goal is to understand how HPEM affects the RF receive chain and identify potential weak spots. The research will involve creating theoretical models, comparing technologies, and validating the results with experiments.
Your role
You will research the impact of various HPEM parameters on RF components, including frequency, pulse shape, pulse repetition frequency, and duty cycle. You will also investigate the influence of different IC technologies, such as InGaP, GaAs, and SiGe:C.
What we expect from you
We are looking for a student with a strong background in electromagnetics and integrated circuits. You should have a good understanding of different IC technologies and their properties. Experience with performing measurements on RF systems in a lab environment is also required.
