Position Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer – Telecommunications to support our ambitious offshore projects aimed at enhancing the energy supply from wind farms to the national grid.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with senior telecommunications engineers on network topics, focusing on the installation and functionality of operational technology (OT) and office IT systems, as well as broadband data transmission and communication technologies.
• Engage in hands-on activities related to offshore ancillary systems, including VSAT systems, CCTV, maritime VHF radio, satellite transmission, public address and general alarm (PAGA) systems, and telephony.
• Ensure quality control and monitor the progress of contractors during construction and installation phases, adhering to established standards and specifications.
• Review and assess technical documentation against underlying specifications.
• Oversee functional tests, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Act as a liaison for both internal and external project partners.
Focus Areas:
This role will primarily concentrate on Dutch offshore projects while also assisting in the design of a new onshore telecommunications concept.
Candidate Profile:
• A university degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network and radio telecommunications.
• Practical experience with communication systems, including SDH technology, MPLS, and VoIP.
• Familiarity with IP network components and telecontrol/network control protocols.
• A proactive mindset, strong teamwork abilities, and flexibility.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
• Compliance with occupational health standards for offshore assignments.
• Willingness to travel and possess a valid driving license.
