Marine Safety and Environmental Manager

Role Overview:
The Marine Safety and Environmental Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and sustainable operation of our global fleet. This includes developing and implementing procedures, overseeing compliance, and advising management on quality, health, safety, and environmental matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with international, statutory, class, and local regulations.
- Oversee the integrity of our quality management system, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Marine Superintendents and Fleetteam Operators.
- Coordinate security measures for high-risk voyages and act as the Company Security Officer.
- Ensure ISM/ISO compliance both onboard and ashore, and manage internal and external audits.
- Offer expert advice on changes in class, flag, or ownership of vessels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, with at least 5 years of sea experience (Captain-level preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years in a (semi) managerial position in a relevant field.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a team-oriented approach.
- Exceptional communication skills in both English and Dutch.
- Proven problem-solving abilities, particularly under high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database applications, with excellent analytical skills.
