Research Project Overview
The DREAM research project is a collaborative effort between academic partners and research institutes, aiming to introduce innovative technologies for measuring, monitoring, and enhancing lighting efficiency in controlled environments. This project will focus on developing hybrid models for fluctuating illumination and designing a model-based controller to optimize light modulation, improving biomass production while reducing energy resource utilization.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop a model-based controller to optimize light modulation for maximum biomass production and minimal energy resource utilization.
- Collaborate with research partners to integrate the model-based controller with existing systems.
- Conduct experiments and data analysis to validate the performance of the model-based controller.
- Develop and maintain documentation of the model-based controller and its implementation.
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Expertise in control theory and optimization, with a strong publication record.
- Excellent communication and organization skills, with experience in coaching PhD and Master students.
- Strong English language skills, with the ability to write and present complex technical information.
Working Conditions
- Full-time employment for 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
- Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale 10.
