Senior Marine Engineering Specialist

At Damen Shipyards, we seek a highly skilled Tender Engineer Marine Engineering to join our team.
About the Role
We are looking for a talented individual to conceptualize and design mechanical marine engineering systems for our cutting-edge naval vessels. As a key member of the Proposals department, you will work on the tender process, ensuring that our designs meet all necessary requirements and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop general system architectures, weigh, power, and cost estimations, and main ship balances as part of the design and tender package.
- Contribute to requirements analysis, draft marine engineering specifications, and support subcontractor quotation processes and evaluations.
- Evaluate designs against requirements and prepare corresponding reports.
- Write technical documents, contract specifications, and reports, effectively communicating complex concepts and data to customers and suppliers.
- Participate in discussions with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders on technical and commercial aspects of proposed solutions.
- Support cost evaluations provided by suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal departments to optimize project outcomes.
- Develop innovative marine engineering design solutions as part of a commercially viable and attractive proposition.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of experience in marine engineering design concepts and practices, preferably in complex naval projects.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to deliver compelling text, figures, and calculations.
- A commercial mindset to deliver viable and attractive technical and financial forecasts.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn Dutch is a requirement.
- Occasional travel abroad may be required.
