Our mission is to create business value by leveraging data, innovating collaboration between colleagues, yards, ships, customers, and suppliers.
The Role of Data StewardWe are seeking a skilled Data Steward to ensure the quality, integrity, and governance of data assets within the Business Partners domain. This includes Customer, Supplier, Manufacturer, Creditor, Debtor, and Employee data. The successful candidate will work closely with data & analytic teams, business stakeholders, and digital & IT professionals to establish and maintain data standards, quality, policies, and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement data quality rules to ensure data fitness for purpose
- Identify, report, analyze, and resolve data issues related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data management strategies, policies, and governance frameworks
- Define retention periods and procedures for archiving and monitoring compliance
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to assess data quality, completeness, and accuracy
- Implement and monitor data governance processes, including data access controls, data retention policies, and data life cycle management
- Develop data governance training programs to increase data literacy and educate stakeholders on data management practices
- Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring correct security classification labels for business objects
- Participate in the development of data policies, including data retention, data privacy, data use, and data regulations
- 4+ years of experience in master data management, data analytics, data engineering, or a related field
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data analytics, software engineering, information technology, or a related field
- Proven experience in designing and implementing data governance initiatives in a management role
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, data governance frameworks, and data quality principles
- Proficiency in data profiling and analysis techniques using tools like SQL, Excel, or data profiling software
- Familiarity with metadata management and data dictionary tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data quality issues
- Ability to effectively communicate technical standards, practices, and initiatives to drive data governance throughout the organization
