Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master to join our team at Oceanwide. As a Master General Cargo Specialist, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently navigating our General Cargo vessels, leading and motivating the onboard crew, and ensuring the smooth execution of operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ship's personnel and ensure the smooth execution of daily operations on board.
  • Operate the ship in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and laws.
  • Maintain communication with shore authorities and other vessels.
  • Supervise cargo loading, transportation, and unloading.
  • Coordinate with the on-duty chief engineer to resolve any operational or technical issues.
  • Report to the shipping company about the voyage progress and incidents.

Requirements

  • Mandatory certifications like STCW.
  • Unlimited Master license.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Master.
  • Excellent navigation and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of maritime laws and regulations.
  • Good command of the English language, verbal and written.
  • A positive, proactive approach towards the crew.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
