Position Overview

As the Senior Operations Analyst, you will oversee the comprehensive operational value chain associated with Aegon Asset Management's private debt initiatives, which encompasses data oversight, invoicing, and documentation management.

The Private Debt Operations team will also be responsible for coordinating private corporate actions, cash management, and trade operations, working in collaboration with Aegon's global teams rather than executing these tasks directly.

Ultimately, this team will serve as a center of excellence for private credit specialists, providing essential support to the front office while enhancing operational standards and minimizing risks in close partnership with Aegon's global Operations and IT departments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the establishment of the new Private Debt Operations Team at Aegon Asset Management
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members
  • Serving as a primary liaison for the Private Debt front office teams and the broader operations and IT divisions.
  • Collaborating closely with Technical Portfolio Managers from the Front Office.
  • Managing data related to loans, including supporting the integration of contracts into Aegon's systems and ensuring independent data verification.
  • Handling invoicing processes for borrowers.
  • Setting up bank accounts, collecting necessary signatures, and archiving documentation.
  • Supporting trade operations by completing necessary checklists prior to processing trades.
  • Processing loan payments efficiently.
  • Assisting in resolving cash discrepancies and conducting cash flow reconciliations.
  • Implementing, reviewing, and continuously enhancing operational processes.
  • Ensuring that the Private Debt operations department maintains comprehensive written policies and procedures with appropriate governance.
  • Continuously expanding knowledge of Aegon Asset Management's private debt product offerings through interactions with the front office and scheduled training sessions.

Experience Required

A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in middle office loan servicing, settlement, and trade support is essential.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven success in borrower onboarding and fund launches within a global asset management context.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Experience working in a multicultural, multilingual environment across various time zones.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Dutch is mandatory.
  • Ability to establish effective communication channels with key stakeholders to facilitate information sharing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Aladdin is a plus.
  • A good sense of humor is appreciated.

Educational Background

  • A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent, potentially supplemented with CFA, CAIA, or similar qualifications.

Department Overview

The Private Debt operations team is responsible for coordinating the entire operational value chain related to Aegon Asset Management's Private Debt activities. The team will consist of several specialists and aims to create a local value hub that is closely aligned with the front office, focusing on private markets and enhancing operational processes while mitigating risks.
