Job Title: Regional Child Protection Advisor - Africa and Colombia Region

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Regional Child Protection Advisor to join our team in the Africa and Colombia region. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening our regional humanitarian support and response capacity, with a focus on child protection programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strengthen War Child's regional humanitarian support and response capacity, with a focus on child protection programming.
  • Develop and implement high-quality child protection programs in the Africa and Colombia region, in line with international standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to country teams, ensuring that child protection programs are designed and implemented in a way that is responsive to the needs of children and communities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including country teams, partners, and donors, to ensure that child protection programming is integrated into broader humanitarian responses.
  • Contribute to the development of regional and global child protection strategies, policies, and guidelines, ensuring that they are informed by best practices and evidence-based research.
  • Represent War Child in regional and global child protection forums, advocating for the rights and needs of children affected by conflict.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Social Sciences, preferably social work, psychology, or sociology, law, or another relevant field.
  • At least 5 years of extensive experience in child protection programming in the humanitarian sector, with a focus on case management, community-based, and community-led approaches.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in using key tools and approaches, including humanitarian guidelines on child protection, case management, and community-based or community-led child protection approaches.
  • Experience in child protection context, capacity, and policy analysis at regional/international levels.
  • Skilled at networking, representation, and partnership development to promote child protection learning and mobilize resources.
  • Able to generate and use data and evidence to innovate, deliver, learn, and share what works and what doesn't work for children.
  • Demonstrated programme design, monitoring, and evaluation skills, including designing pathways to ensure exponential reach of children affected by conflict.
