We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated researcher to join our statistics research group at the University of Twente as a PhD candidate. The successful candidate will be part of an ERC consolidator grant project aimed at generalizing statistical theory from artificial neural networks to biological neural networks.
About the ProjectThe project focuses on understanding how the brain learns and applies this knowledge to make AI more efficient with less data. This requires close collaboration with researchers and other staff members, and we encourage a high degree of responsibility and independence.
Your Profile- You have a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field.
- You possess a creative mindset, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a good team spirit.
- You are fluent in English and willing to work in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment.

As a PhD candidate, you will receive a gross monthly salary ranging from € 2,770,- (first year) to € 3,539,- (fourth year).
