We are currently seeking a highly motivated Masters student to join our Research and Development team as a full-time intern for 3-6 months.
About the Role
As a Research and Development Intern, you will be responsible for improving our models' representation of climatic conditions on the Direct Air Capture (DAC) process. You will work closely with our R&D team to design, develop, and build machinery for CO2 capture using a sorbent material.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing the next generation of DAC machinery
- Simulating the effects of weather on the DAC process and suggesting optimized operating conditions
- Developing new and optimized models of the DAC process
- Working in the intersection of R&D and Engineering, utilizing data from both teams, interpreting simulations, experimental testing results, and reporting
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completed, in the midst, or at the end of a technical degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, process/chemical engineering, or computational engineering
- Experience with dynamic systems simulation, data fitting, and parameter estimation
- Proficiency in MATLAB or Python programming languages, preferably with experience in functions ode 15s, lsqnonlin, scipy library, solve_ivp, and least_squares functions
