The Project

Skytree builds modular and scalable technology for Direct Air Capture (DAC) of CO2 to combat climate change. As part of that technology, we design, develop, and build machinery for CO2 capture using a sorbent material. To optimize DAC capacity and efficiency, it is essential to design our machinery the best way possible.

In this internship, you will be part of the Research & Development team working on the design of future DAC Hubs for large-scale CO2 capture. Your primary responsibility will be to design and simulate the next generation of DAC machinery, using Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulations to optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate the next generation of DAC machinery
  • Perform CFD simulations of the DAC process
  • Develop new and optimized designs of the DAC desorption unit
  • Assist in the design, interpretation of simulations, and experimental testing results
  • Contribute to the development of our DAC testing platform
Requirements
  • Completed, in the midst, or at the end of a technical degree (mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, process/chemical engineering, computational engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with Ansys FLUENT or similar software (OpenFoam, COMSOL, Simscale, etc.)
  • Experience in CAD software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Inventor
  • Ability to work on simulations, design, and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and in written form
