About the RoleWe are hiring software engineers for our Data Solution in Amsterdam. Our Data Solution strategy is multifold. Data forms our backbone and drives the business and product insights we generate. Our teams in Amsterdam use the power of data to detect & prevent fraud, optimize payments transactions, build tools to enable ease of scalability, and enrich our onboarding & transaction platforms with key information metrics.
We believe in the transformative power of data. Data is not just a byproduct; it's our driving force, shaping the way we understand our business and deliver innovative solutions to our customers. Within Data Solution, you'll tackle high-impact projects that all revolve around understanding our customers and tailoring our payment flow at scale.
Your Responsibilities- You will work on complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, and launch into production.
- You will offer support and technical guidance in software architectural discussions.
- You will identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable.
- You will bring your own point of view on best engineering practices.
- Your code will be used at scale, and you are expected to think in that mindset when building features.
- You will build data products and tooling according to quality principles such as performance and code quality.
- You will collaborate across teams and sometimes across time zones to get projects over the finish line.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in front of different stakeholders.
- You have experience with Core Java, web services, REST APIs, and SQL/PostgreSQL.
- You are knowledgeable about various software architecture paradigms such as event-driven or message queueing systems.
- You have experience in deploying on containers.
- You have a good understanding of Software Engineering practices and interest in product knowledge.
- You are familiar with complex large-scale distributed systems.
- You like to challenge the status quo and ask the 'why' question.
- You enjoy working in a cross-functional team with roles like Data Science, Frontend, and Product.
- A competitive salary of approximately $150,000 per year.
- A full-time position.
- The opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, with at least 3 days per week spent in the office.
