We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager - Work Package to join our team at Thales. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing work packages from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and budget compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Work Package Organisation and Planning:
- Develop and maintain work package descriptions, including entity/customer requirements
- Identify deliverables, milestones, and interdependencies with other work packages
- Establish schedules and estimates based on viable solutions, and identify necessary resources and their availability
- Initialise risk and opportunity registers and work package baselines using relevant key project tools
- Obtain commitments from suppliers where applicable
- Work Package Launch:
- Establish network diagrams and detailed schedules aligned with project master schedules
- Define cost structures, resource profiles, supplier selection, and relevant metrics to monitor work packages
- Write relevant plans within work package scope
- Work Package Execution:
- Achieve work package objectives and take necessary management actions to correct deviations from baselines or objectives
- Identify and solve issues, manage risks and opportunities, and perform mitigation activities
- Work Package Monitoring and Control:
- Review documents, specifications, schedules, and estimate files using peers where necessary
- Monitor and consolidate all deliverables
- Update schedules, risk and opportunities registers, ETC, and EAC
- Consolidate work package dashboards and lead progress meetings
- Report as per PMP and escalate to PM any variances or key issues
- Quality of Deliverables:
- Ensure quality of delivered products, services, and documentation within project committed time and budget and in work package scope
- Ensure all configuration items within work package scope are managed (could be done by configuration manager)
- Key Stakeholder Relations:
- Lead teams and/or suppliers involved to perform work packages and ensure respect of all commitments
- Participate and input to all relevant project reviews as specified in PMP
- Act as PM delegate to Client where required
- Act as Thales representative for sub-contracted work where required
