Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering Specialist

Overview
In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of geotechnical and geological engineers in a global setting. As a dedicated Geotechnical Earthquake Consultant, you will be part of a group of engineers providing expertise in various fields including maritime structures, hydraulic engineering, infrastructure, airports, tunnels, dikes, land reclamation, and buildings both in the Netherlands and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
As a Geotechnical Earthquake Consultant, your responsibilities will include working on a range of projects, from significant multidisciplinary initiatives to smaller assignments requiring specialized seismic input. You will alternate between roles such as specialist, design leader, or reviewer, offering geotechnical seismic guidance, while also supervising and mentoring junior and mid-level colleagues. Your work will be both challenging and rewarding, contributing your expert knowledge to complex engineering projects in collaboration with colleagues from various global offices.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Geo-Engineering (Geological or Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Seismology) with relevant coursework or thesis focused on Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering or Engineering Seismology.
• 5-15 years of relevant experience (mid-level or senior).
• Strong numerical skills (e.g., proficiency in Plaxis) and an interest in digital advancements (e.g., scripting, automation).
• Ability to manage and collaborate effectively with a diverse team. You should be cooperative, commercially aware, and adept at building connections.
• A motivated and enthusiastic attitude, with a commitment to technical excellence.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English (Dutch language skills are a plus).
• A flexible approach and willingness to travel as necessary.
