The Advanced Laser Technology Centre, part of ASMPT Group, specializes in the design, construction, and sale of machines utilizing proprietary multi-beam laser cutting technology for semiconductor wafer dicing and low-K wafer grooving.
Job Overview
In the capacity of an Electrical Design Engineer, your role will be pivotal in advancing and refining ALSI's laser dicing system, known as LASER1205. You will engage in the electrical design of various system components, which encompass laser systems, optical modules, mechatronic systems, and planar motion stages. Collaborating closely with mechanical and software engineers, you will create electrical designs that align with specified design criteria. Your involvement will extend to the prototyping and testing phases, ensuring successful implementation for our clientele. This position is based in our R&D center.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5-10 years of pertinent professional experience.
- Proficiency in E-Plan electrical design software; familiarity with Siemens Team Center is advantageous.
- A mindset that is innovative, adaptable, and customer-focused.
- A results-oriented approach coupled with exceptional communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in the design of electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Experience with electrical/electromechanical systems and drive mechanisms, ideally within the semiconductor sector.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of conceptual thinking and pragmatic problem-solving.
- Ability to manage your own workload and assist others in their tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in defining the electrical system requirements while considering additional mechanical design, serviceability, manufacturability, relevant standards (SEMI, NFPA, CE), environmental conditions, and design guidelines for laser separation systems.
- Develop electrical designs in E-Plan based on established electrical system requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on human safety, machine safety, and environmental standards (e.g., ESD, EMC).
- Review the content and quality of Technical Production Documentation and other related documents.
- Support the prototyping and testing phases of development.
- Provide advanced support for customers and production facilities.
- Collaborate with and offer technical assistance to internal departments such as process engineering, manufacturing, and service.
- Report directly to the Systems Engineering Manager.
