Research Position in Cognitive Neuroscience

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to contribute to our understanding of language processing in the brain. The successful candidate will be part of the Snell Language Lab at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a leading institution in the field of cognitive neuroscience.

The research project focuses on developing and testing a new theory of the reading brain. The candidate will be responsible for conducting literature research, discussing findings with team members, and participating in internal research meetings. They will also contribute to the development of new research methods and techniques.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in cognitive neuroscience, artificial intelligence, or a related field. They should have excellent analytical skills, a strong affinity for programming, and excellent writing skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

The PhD researcher will be employed for a period of four years, with a starting salary of € 2.872,00 (PhD) and maximum € 3.670,00 (PhD) gross per month in the fourth year. The position offers a full-time 38-hour working week, with a holiday leave entitlement of 232 hours per year. The researcher will also have access to a wide range of sports facilities and the possibility to save holiday hours for sabbatical leave or exchange them for extra salary.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
