Customs Broker Job Description

Our client, a global leader in freight and logistics, is seeking a skilled Customs Broker to join their Contract Logistics division in the Netherlands.

The successful candidate will work in the Customs Department, providing optimal service to customers by carrying out customs-related processes according to established requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process customs declarations in compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Prepare and manage customs declarations for cross-border transport, including gathering necessary technical and fiscal information
  • Liaise with Customs authorities regarding special tariff duties and other tax matters
  • Handle objections, BTI applications, and correspondence with Customs
  • Identify and report any irregularities in customs processes
  • Draft and submit petitions to Customs, providing necessary motivation
  • Address customs-related issues, offering advice and solutions to both internal and external customers

Requirements:

  • MBO-level education with a customs broker diploma
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken
  • Experience with AEB software and/or WMS applications is preferred

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time role, and the successful candidate is expected to work in the office near Rotterdam at least 4 days a week. Working from home allowance is available.

Relocation support is not possible for this position, and we will only consider candidates within the Netherlands with a valid work permit.
