We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate will be part of the Flow4Algae project, which aims to understand the multiscale fluid dynamics of living microalgae suspensions.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments to track microbial life in flows using advanced flow diagnostics and microscopy techniques.
- Develop new analytical tools for the different flow regimes and collaborate with the team to integrate the results into the project.
- Contribute to the development of new flow technologies for bioreactors and model algae blooms.
- Collaborate with the team to publish research papers and present findings at international conferences.
- PhD degree in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Biophysics, Applied Physics, Bio process technology).
- Demonstrated competencies in fluid mechanics, active/bio fluids, experimental flow diagnostics, microfluidics, and microalgae research.
