Introduction: ASML's Development & Engineering sector is responsible for the specification, design and realization of all products in the ASML portfolio. Within this sector, the Light Sources group is responsible for the development of light sources for ASML metrology and control systems which ensure optimal overlay, focus and throughput performance of ASML machines. This involves innovating, designing and testing with a multidisciplinary team and suppliers, contributing to the development of leading-edge light source systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a key player in a multidisciplinary environment, you will further develop current and next-generation light sources for metrology and control systems within our products. We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and capabilities:

  • Definition of specifications for Light Sources submodules to meet the required system performance
  • Generation of effective and creative optical solutions for improving light source performance
  • Collaboration with suppliers to ensure quality of outsourced developments
  • Experimental analysis and modeling of the performance of our optical light source systems
  • Development of opto-mechanical tools required during install and setup of the light source
  • Calibration and testing of the optical light sources in our lithography systems
  • Modeling and experimental verification of light source performance
  • Support for the production of these sources and their use by the final customers

Requirements:

We are looking for a talented candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Technical higher vocational education or university degree, BSc or MSc in Physics
  • Experience in multidisciplinary teams, preferably with 3+ years of industry experience
  • Solid knowledge in photonics, free space optics, fiber optics and lasers
  • Experience with optical simulation tools ZEMAX and/or Code V and with Data analysis, MATLAB knowledge preferred
  • Experience with supplier collaborations
  • Defining, implementing and testing CTQs, optical system failure modes and safety measures including means and methods on how to measure and optimize
  • Hands-on experience with building, operating and troubleshooting optical test setups preferred
