Key Responsibilities

In the role of Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, developing, validating, managing, and sustaining various electrical concepts and products for both current and future ASML offerings. You will also play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of these products in close collaboration with the architectural team.

The primary focus of this position will be on components such as cables, racks, cabinets, passive interconnections, and PCBA, with an emphasis on visualizing these elements in schematic form. Your projects will largely center around racks and modules designed for applications involving optical sensors and light sources.

The responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer include:

Clarifying design requirements through collaboration with electrical architects and designers from your project and related projects. Defining, documenting, and maintaining designs for electrical modules and infrastructure to ensure design quality (safety, EMC, serviceability, manufacturability) and adherence to international standards. Creating and maintaining technical drawings and schematics for electrical modules and infrastructure (including functional overviews, high-level block diagrams, detailed wiring diagrams, and cable overviews). Estimating work breakdown and effort for your design tasks. Conducting testing and qualification of the electrical modules under your responsibility. Providing technical guidance to manufacturers of electrical modules and infrastructure by collaborating with supplier quality engineers and manufacturers. Ensuring quality by qualifying first article electrical modules and infrastructure at the module level prior to integration. Sharing knowledge with production and service engineers. Assisting in the analysis and resolution of reliability issues. Enhancing design quality by engaging with stakeholders for feedback on designed products. Supporting the electrical architect by supplying detailed electrical compliance information necessary for obtaining third-party compliance certification.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Electronics Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the following areas:

Electrical design of electrical and electronic modules. Design of cables, racks, cabinets, and PCBA (passive/interconnections PCBA). Laboratory experience with testing and/or integration of electronic and electrical modules.

Additional experience in the following areas will be considered advantageous:

Design of active (digital, analog, or mixed signal) PCBAs. Electro-mechanical design using 3D CAD tools. Familiarity with compliance to international electrical standards (NFPA, SEMI). Experience working in multidisciplinary design teams to reach consensus on specifications. Knowledge of SAFe - Agile methodologies.

Additional Information

The Development & Engineering (D&E) sector at ASML is tasked with the specification, design, and realization of products within the ASML portfolio. Within D&E, the Electronic Development (EL) department is responsible for defining, realizing, qualifying, and integrating electronic functions and modules into these products.
