About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Examiner to join our team at the European Patent Office (EPO). As a Patent Examiner, you will be responsible for examining patent applications related to power electronics and electrical drives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine patent applications in the field of power electronics and electrical drives
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to determine the novelty and inventive step of inventions
  • Make well-reasoned decisions on whether to grant patents
  • Ensure the uniform and effective application of the European Patent Convention and other legal texts

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field
  • Excellent knowledge of one of the EPO's official languages (English, French, or German) and the ability to understand the other two
  • Work experience in industry would be an advantage
  • Citizenship of one of the European Patent Organisation member states
