Network Equipment Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting on network equipment, remove/replace defective equipment, and collaborate with resources to isolate and restore the network.
  • Analyze blueprints to determine construction project locations, identify and map utility locations, and measure their depth.
  • Document interactions, site information, and utilities in organizational software.
  • Communicate with clients, engineers, and management.
  • Utilize various techniques to measure utilities, including electrical, magnetic, GPS, blueprint analysis, and/or radar.
  • Proactively identify potential problem areas to ensure network and company integrity.
  • Locate utility coordinates using GPS or surveying equipment.
  • Manage asset replenishment, shipping, and receiving of company and customer materials.
  • Maintain tools, test sets, and network equipment.
  • Ensure network/site security, cleanliness, and adherence to company policies.
  • Inspection of cabinets, buried cable, construction sites, and outdoor facilities in various environments.
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor/contractor performance.
  • Work in individual and team environments, collaborating with other teams to achieve common goals.

Requirements

  • Reside/be able to reach Ashburn & Chantilly, VA within 30 minutes.
  • 0 – 1 years of relevant experience in field construction tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Previous experience in site development, underground installations, utility locating, fiber optic cable builds, preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer, cell phone, test equipment, Microsoft Windows operating system, and Office applications.
  • Operate on-call 24/7/365 on a rotating schedule, including standby, call out, dispatch, and overtime, as required by the business.
  • Adhere to personal safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain eligibility to operate a company-issued vehicle per our policy.
  • Possess a state-issued driver's license for the state of residence.
  • Have a cell phone.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $18.75 - $25.00 USD/hourly, commensurate with experience.
