SENIOR TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

JOB OBJECTIVE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide in-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and adapt these standards to address specific challenges faced by the industry and SABIC.
  • Identify necessary modifications and design comprehensive global accounting policies for SABIC, ensuring stakeholder endorsement.
  • Deliver prompt and clear advice regarding the accounting consequences of potential business decisions or strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate the implications of proposed IFRS changes or amendments and determine the internal actions required for compliance.
  • Assist senior management in representing the company to standard-setting bodies and other regulatory organizations, advocating for SABIC's interests.
  • Create and execute a training strategy to enhance the capabilities of SABIC's financial reporting team, including tailored training sessions as needed.
  • Facilitate training through various formats to cater to diverse audiences and learning styles, including e-learning, best practice guides, and live presentations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in preparing and defending accounting positions to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in auditing or a related field.
  • Professional accounting or auditing certification is essential.
  • Proven experience in applying IFRS and interpreting principle-based requirements and guidelines.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs is advantageous.
  • Background in organizational integration projects, with an understanding of organizational culture and climate.
  • Proven track record in participating in large-scale projects, showcasing effective project planning and execution skills.
