Job Description



We are looking for a talented Structural Topsides Engineer to reinforce our Structural Topsides Discipline at SBM Offshore.



The successful candidate will be responsible for performing structural design calculations for offshore topsides structures, including FPSO topsides modules, flare towers, and hull integrations.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Perform structural calculations for offshore topsides structures using Finite Element software (GeniE, Femap) and in-house developed software.

  • Prepare and review construction drawings and material take-offs (MTOs).

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of design standards, procedures, and tools.

  • Support the preparation of technical reports and documentation for project deliverables.

  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with the latest engineering practices and technologies.



Requirements:



We are looking for candidates with an MSc or BSc degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Civil, Offshore, Naval, or Aerospace Engineering, with a specialization in structural analysis of offshore topside structures.



The ideal candidate will have 1 or 2 years of relevant working experience with structural design and possess technical knowledge of structural analysis of topside structures.



Additionally, the successful candidate will have:





  • Knowledge of rules of classification societies (i.e. ABS, DNV, BV, and Lloyds).

  • Experience with finite element software GeniE.

  • Professional communication in English (verbal and written).

  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of urgency in tackling tasks and challenges.

  • Strong planning and prioritization skills to meet organizational goals.

  • Resilience and the ability to rebound from setbacks and adversity.

  • Adaptability to new technology and sustainable developments.
