Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Topside Engineer to join our team at SBM Offshore. As a key member of our Structural Topsides Discipline, you will be responsible for performing structural design calculations for offshore topsides structures, such as FPSO topsides modules, flare towers, and hull integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural calculations for offshore topsides structures using Finite Element software (GeniE, Femap), in-house developed software, or hand calculations.
  • Prepare and review construction drawings and material take-offs (MTOs) for offshore topsides structures.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of design standards, procedures, and tools for structural topside design.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports and documentation for project deliverables.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated with the latest engineering practices and technologies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in structural analysis of offshore topside structures, with a degree in Mechanical, Civil, Offshore, Naval, or Aerospace Engineering. You will also need to have 1 or 2 years of relevant working experience with structural design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of structural analysis of topside structures.
  • Knowledge of rules of classification societies (i.e. ABS, DNV, BV, and Lloyds).
  • Experience with finite element software GeniE.
  • Professional communication in English (verbal and written).
