Position: Research Assistant I/II in the Division of Cardiology
We are seeking applications for the role outlined above.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in research activities within the Division of Cardiology, collaborating with the Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Health, the Center for Translational Stem Cell Biology, or the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre.
- Contribute to active research initiatives focused on gene-editing, biomedical engineering, and innovative therapeutic strategies targeting cardiovascular diseases and genetic disorders.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Biological Sciences or a related field.
- Strong motivation and a solid foundation in stem cell and molecular biology, particularly in gene-editing methodologies.
- Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience with relevant techniques such as CAS9/CRISPR, patch clamp analysis, ion-optic based calcium analysis, material sciences, or animal surgical procedures.
What We Provide
The appointment will start as soon as possible on a temporary basis for one year or a fixed-term basis for two years, with the potential for renewal based on performance and funding availability.
A competitive salary aligned with qualifications and experience will be offered. Fixed-term appointments will include a contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of the basic salary. Additional benefits encompass annual leave, medical coverage, and complimentary access to on-campus fitness facilities and libraries.
