Job Description

As the leader of the Gastroenterology Brand Team at AbbVie, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis business units. Your mission will be to create, build, and deliver resourcing and launch plans that meet or exceed commercial and financial goals.

You will be responsible for developing brand strategies and plans in collaboration with the brand team, leading the in-field team to drive short-term sales targets and long-term objectives, and positioning AbbVie as a market leader and solution-provider across the stakeholder base.

  • Marketing and Sales Leadership: Effectively manage and execute all marketing and sales-related brand activities as per the Brand Plan, delivering sales performance to maximize or exceed brand sales and margin within expense budgets.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Optimize resource utilization by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales (and Brand) Teams, driving overall performance, including setting sales targets and incentive schemes, managing Sales Force Management Systems, and Key Performance Indicators to continuously improve sales performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of customer perspectives through regular engagement with stakeholders, such as in-field visits.
  • Financial Management: Hold accountability for allocated Brand P&L in terms of brand sales and financial planning, including the Financial Plan, Focus/Update, and Long Range Plan.
  • Business Development: Set future direction for business opportunities to seize maximum business results.
  • Market Intelligence: Ensure timely and qualitative market intelligence information flow to Brand Teams and brand strategy/tactical communication from Brand Teams to In-Field Teams to optimize brand strategy and its execution.
  • Global and Area Integration: Liaise with relevant Area and Global functions to integrate global and area strategy/tactics into the local brand planning strategy and execution, and facilitate the development and alignment of global and area brand vision and strategic objectives.
  • Brand Team Leadership: As Brand Team Leader, lead the Brand Team around a brand vision and objectives, ensuring Brand Team Members contribute to the development of the Brand strategy through the Brand Planning process, in line with the strategy defined by the Global Brand Team.
