Application Engineer for Railway Systems

About the Role

KONI, a leading manufacturer of critical components and customized technology solutions, is seeking a skilled Application Engineer for Railway Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining technical solutions for customers, leading the implementation to Start of Production (SOP), and supporting sales teams to provide cost-effective technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Input estimation of testing and homologation fees for project evaluation
  • Provide technical support in prototype production
  • Define product development plans with teams
  • Prepare and release customer drawings, production drawings, and testing plans
  • Work with customers to obtain drawing and test plan approvals
  • Manage project milestones, team meetings, and smooth handovers to production
  • Organize project kick-off meetings
  • Develop technical specifications with customers
  • Collaborate with sales teams to supply KONI's differentiating value
  • Drive technical project progress from start to BOM release based on project schedules
  • Establish customer intimacy and understand needs for new products (with R&D)
  • Lead technical parts of New Train Homologation processes
  • Coordinate designated production plants for new product SOP
  • Verify project deliverables (PPAP, testing, drawings, and FI) before SOP

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience as an Application Engineer
  • Knowledge of principles and design of Shock Absorbers (dampers) is preferred
  • General mechanical/hydraulic design
  • 3D Solidworks
  • Good communication skills in English and willingness to take on challenges
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Driveworks experience considered a plus
  • Passionate pursuit of excellence with high accountability and human touch

  • Experience with Matlab and FEA calculation preferred
