About the Role

KONI, a leading manufacturer of highly engineered critical components and customized technology solutions, is seeking an Application Engineer Railway to join its team. As an Application Engineer Railway, you will be responsible for defining the best technical solution for customers and leading the implementation to Start of Production (SOP). You will support sales by providing cost-effective technical solutions to win target orders, act as the main technical interface with customers, collect customer needs and requirements, and participate in the development of new dedicated products.

Main Responsibilities

  • Input estimation of testing and homologation fees for project evaluation.
  • Involve in the production process review and provide technical support in prototype production.
  • Define the product development plan with the team.
  • Prepare and release customer drawings, production drawings, Fabrication Instruction (FI), testing plans, and other related instructions.
  • Work with customers to obtain drawing and test plan approvals.
  • Take care of project management, including milestones, team meetings, and smooth handovers to production.
  • Organize project kick-off meetings.
  • Involve and guide technical specifications with customers.
  • Supply KONI's differentiating value together with the sales team.
  • Drive the technical project progress from project start to BOM release based on the project schedule.
  • Increase customer intimacy and understand and discuss needs for new products with R&D.
  • Lead the technical part of the New Train Homologation process.
  • Inform and coordinate designated production plants in preparation for new product SOP.
  • Verify that all project deliverables (PPAP, testing, drawings, FI) are in place before SOP.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Application Engineer Railway with a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in the field. You should have knowledge of principles and design of shock absorbers (dampers), general mechanical/hydraulic design, 3D Solidworks, and good communication skills in English. You should also be willing to take challenges, have good skills in building customer relationships, project management skills, and a can-do attitude.
