Scale up DSP Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Specialist (Downstream Processing) to join our Innovation Center Process Technology group in Gorinchem, NL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing downstream processes for our food, biochemical, and algae business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead or support scale-up, implementation, optimization, and cost reduction of new or existing processes and products at Corbion's locations or at third parties.
- Prepare, lead, and execute pilot and demo scale production runs; translate the outcomes to full plant scales and give support to plant scale trials.
- Translate technology challenges of commercial plants to lab-scale trials at R&D.
- Support or lead troubleshooting in case of problems in our plant facilities and translate problems back to lab-scale trials and knowledge base.
- Analyze results generated by technicians and signal IP opportunities.
- Ensure documentation and reporting of procedures and results according to Corbion standards.
- Build, maintain, and exploit DSP development and implementation skills.
- Support intellectual property, regulatory affairs, marketing, and sales departments with relevant expertise.
- Assist in supervision and support of technicians.
We are looking for a candidate with a Master or PhD degree in (bio)chemical technology, food technology, polymer technology, or a relevant field, and up to 5 years of industrial experience. You should have a practical hands-on, can-do mentality with a strong drive for results.
Key skills and qualifications include:
- Knowledge and experience in development, scale-up, and implementation of unit operations used in downstream processing.
- Experience with innovation project and process management, preferably experience with coordinating R&D project teams in a multi-functional project environment.
- Ability to think and contribute beyond own expertise area (helicopter view).
- Good communication skills and intercultural sensitivity.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
- Stress resilient; ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and scope changes.
- Collaborative, pro-active, responsible, result-driven, and flexible.
- Fluency in English (oral and written).
