Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Software Supervisor

As a Manufacturing Engineering Software Supervisor at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists within the Operations Engineering department. Your primary responsibility will be to coach and develop your team members, ensuring their personal and professional growth. You will work closely with the Operations Production Supervisor(s) to fulfill the technical needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists.
  • Drive the defined strategy and align goals with direct reports.
  • Organize proper staffing of engineers to provide adequate technical expertise.
  • Prioritize work and resources across the team.
  • Improve team effectiveness and contribute to OE KPIs.
  • Have daily management in place for your team and drive KPIs within required performance.
  • Guide team members' professional development through goal setting, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Provide input on succession planning and competence matrix.
  • Actively demonstrate and apply leadership behaviors and 4i Values.
  • Remove barriers to success and enable a work environment where colleagues can excel.
  • Provide input for capital investments and coordinate higher-level factory/supply chain critical issues.
  • Drive execution of factory and field continuous improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • University degree in a technical area or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturing.
  • 3-5 years of management experience in a manufacturing, technical support, or service management role in a high-tech industry environment.
  • Affinity to work with ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with software engineering practices (Scrum, Agile).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (local language preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop people via mentoring and coaching.
  • Working knowledge of project management, data analysis, and resource planning.
  • Demonstrated experience with effective issue management and high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise analysis of data, systematic problem-solving, and basic experimental methods.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse customers in English and preferably also Dutch language.
  • Collaborative team-player with a hands-on and can-do mentality.
