Cybersecurity Specialist Embedded Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer Embedded Systems to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, implementing, and validating the cybersecurity concept on vehicle-related control systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry. Knowledge of embedded software and hardware, as well as automotive standards like ISO 21434, ISO 14229, and Autosar, is essential. Experience with Vector tools like CANape and CANoe, as well as risk assessment tooling, is a plus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Defining the cybersecurity concept and resulting countermeasures considering the control system capabilities, safety, and diagnostics concept.
- Aligning the cybersecurity concept and implementation with other stakeholders in the organization.
- Defining cybersecurity requirements for new/updated ECUs.
- Discussing implementation proposals with suppliers.
- Defining the crypto service functionality within the IT infrastructure.
- Functionally validating the cybersecurity concept.
The successful candidate will also review and approve stakeholder requirement documents, proposals from suppliers, and verification reports from suppliers. Additionally, they will support root cause analyses of complex issues related to cryptographic calculations and diagnostic communication to ECUs, define hardware requirements for new/updated ECUs, and participate in simultaneous engineering teams under the lead of a System Owner to support a successful integration in production.
The successful candidate will report regular status updates to the Property Owner Vehicle Cybersecurity and support the System Owners in achieving project milestones. They will also align with other vehicle cybersecurity engineers within Paccar to ensure processes and strategy are in place.
The Architecture department within Embedded Engineering is responsible for translating requirements into a physical Electric/Electronic (E/E) Architecture, consisting of Control Systems, and maintaining expertise in key areas, like cybersecurity, diagnostics, and functional safety.
Requirements
Education:
- Technical education on bachelor or master level with a specialization in cybersecurity, mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering.
Working experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of embedded software and hardware.
- Knowledge of automotive standards like ISO 21434, ISO 14229, and Autosar.
- Experience with Vector tools like CANape and CANoe is a plus.
- Experience with risk assessment tooling is a plus.
