We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. As a PhD candidate in Cognitive Psychology/Neuroscience, you will be part of a world-renowned research group that focuses on understanding the human brain and its functions.
Your primary responsibility will be to investigate how the human brain processes information under suboptimal conditions. You will work closely with our team to design and implement new experiments, collect and analyze data, and report on your findings to your colleagues and at international conferences.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. You should have excellent verbal and written English language skills and be able to program in Python, Matlab, or equivalent.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects, collaborate with international colleagues, and contribute to the development of new scientific knowledge.
About the TeamThe Interrupt research team is led by Prof Chris Olivers and is part of the Cognitive Psychology group at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Our team is world-leading in its work on perception, attention, working memory, cognitive control, and learning in the visual domain.

What We OfferWe offer a challenging position in a socially engaged organization, with a salary of minimum € 2.872,00 (PhD) and maximum € 3.670,00 (PhD) gross per month, on a full-time basis. We also offer attractive fringe benefits and regulations, including a full-time 38-hour working week, 8% holiday allowance, and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
