Role Responsibilities
In the role of Commercial Manager, you will have the exceptional opportunity to influence the dynamic and professional realm of maritime salvage, focusing on emergency response and wreck recovery. Your responsibilities will include:
Shaping the commercial strategies of SMIT Salvage with an emphasis on business growth. Acting as the primary account manager for key clients, enhancing SMIT Salvage's position as the preferred responder. Expanding and maintaining our network of response partners and subcontractors through formal agreements. Overseeing project management from a commercial perspective, ensuring accurate financial settlements. Negotiating and finalizing contracts with clients and subcontractors. Identifying new business opportunities and variations with existing clients. Serving as the first point of contact for emergency operations outside regular hours, as per the duty roster.Desired Qualifications
To excel as a Commercial Manager at SMIT Salvage, you should possess a competitive drive and the ability to forge relationships in an international context. Key qualities include:
A degree in a nautical or business-related field. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar international role. A proven track record in a business-to-business environment. Excellent command of both written and spoken English, with proficiency in an additional language being advantageous. A willingness to work abroad as needed. Experience in the shipping, insurance, towage, or salvage industries is highly beneficial.What We Offer
