About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Kitchen Porter to join our team at The Hoxton Lloyd, Amsterdam. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and efficient workspace, ensuring that all kitchen areas are tidy and well-organized, and supporting our chefs in their daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and well-maintained at all times, including the preparation and cleaning of equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Assist the chefs in the preparation and cooking of food, including the washing and peeling of vegetables, and the cleaning of pots and pans.
- Maintain a high level of organization and efficiency in the kitchen, including the storage and retrieval of ingredients and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen, including the cleaning of floors, walls, and ceilings.
- Assist with the receiving and storage of food and equipment deliveries.
- Perform other duties as required by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of organization and efficiency.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
