Job DescriptionAre you ready to apply your (electrical) technical expertise at great heights without prior experience in the wind energy sector? Join us at our new wind farm, where 140 wind turbines, located 25 kilometers offshore, will generate 1.5 gigawatts of electricity. We are assembling a team of 30 service specialists to maintain these impressive turbines, and we will train you to become a fully qualified Service Technician.

Your Responsibilities
From our site office, you will work to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the 140 wind turbines that comprise the wind farm. As a service technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining these state-of-the-art turbines. What does your day look like?
Upon arrival, you will check the monitoring systems to assess the status of the turbines. Typically, everything runs smoothly, and you will begin with scheduled maintenance. You will board the Crew Transport Vessel (CTV), a powerful catamaran. As the boat reaches its top speed, you will witness the sunrise behind you. After a brief journey, the CTV will drop you off at the base of one of the turbines, which will be your workplace for the day. You will ascend 150 meters to the turbine house, where you will follow clear instructions to conduct inspections, replace components, clean as necessary, and ensure proper lubrication. In short, you will perform all tasks required for the sustainable operation of this valuable installation.
Your second responsibility involves troubleshooting any malfunctions. You will analyze the monitoring systems to identify issues, and often, a reset can be performed from the site office. However, sometimes your expertise is needed on-site. You will retrieve a new part from the warehouse adjacent to the office, board the boat, and resolve the issue.
Rest assured, we will not send you out to sea and heights without proper training. Your journey begins with a comprehensive training program focused on both technical skills and safety. In the initial years, you will benefit from the knowledge provided by the turbine manufacturer, which you will acquire through on-the-job training and an extensive educational program. After this, you will be recognized as a qualified Service Technician in Offshore Wind, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable world. How appealing is that?
Work Environment
Your base will be the hub located in the harbor, where a team of 30 technicians monitors the entire wind farm spanning over 200 square kilometers. The site office includes workspace, a docking area for the Crew Transport Vessels, and a warehouse for spare parts.
Your Qualifications
You have a keen interest in the technology of tomorrow and are eager to contribute. You combine this with a problem-solving mindset and a strong awareness of safety. You take responsibility and can work independently, while also recognizing the importance of teamwork. Additionally, you possess:
- A completed vocational education (MBO level 3 or 4) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Technology (or a comparable field) or are set to complete it soon;
- Proficiency in both English and Dutch;
- Residence within a reasonable commuting distance from our site, promoting a healthy work-life balance;
- No fear of working at heights.
