Senior Inventory Accountant

About the Role:
The Senior Inventory Accountant will be a subject matter expert for inventory accounting and analysis on a global level. This role is a mix of approximately 35% accounting and 65% analysis for designated manufacturing sites, Tier 1 and Tier 2 EMEA warehouses, and consignment inventory. As the point of contact for all things inventory, you will drive behavior and influence stakeholders across regions. You will operate within a multi-cultural, diverse, and inclusive team. It is expected that you will proactively identify ways to improve and streamline processes and lead the implementation of process improvements and standardizations while cooperating with other GBS business process leads.
Responsibilities:
- Be a solid business partner and subject matter expert with other global finance teams, supply chain management, divisional central accounting, FP&A, business controls, and multi-region GBS teams.
- Own global inventory accounting processes, analysis, and reporting, including designated manufacturing sites, global warehouses, and associated consignment inventory.
- Drive and strive for global standardization via LEAN methodologies and work with different automation groups to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Own and safeguard key SOX controls related to inventory and cost of goods sold accounting, including full inventory reserves and inventory verification processes.
- Execute month/quarter/year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate close and financial reports preparation.
- Determine focus on analyzing balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation, external and internal reporting, monitoring SOX/internal control requirements, support audits, and maintaining & performing software interfaces with SAP.
- Drive compliance in all finance-related matters and ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements, and GAAP principles.
- Support internal and external audits and audit-related accounting matters (SOX, Global Internal Audit).
- Participate in implementing quality requirements in all aspects of the financial process.
- Ensure all activities comply with legal demands, ethical standards, and the Internal Quality Management System.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Financial accounting or Business Economics.
- 5+ years relevant experience.
- SAP experience, additional automation capabilities are a plus.
- Fluent in English, additional language capabilities are a plus.
- DE&I-minded individual.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills and focus on building relationships.
- Self-motivated yet team player and takes ownership in all responsibilities.
- Change agent that focuses on a high level of quality.
- Continuous Improvement and analytical mindset.
- Role to be filled at Senior Accountant level with demonstrable experience and skillset.
