At TNO, we are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team in the development of biodegradable medical patches. As a PhD candidate, you will lead the research and development of biobased and/or biodegradable materials and processes for medical patches, taking into account the entire product life cycle.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a literature review on state-of-the-art materials and methods for biodegradable/compostable electronics;
- Select 2-3 concepts, supported by Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies;
- Develop processes and technologies for a biocompostable/biodegradable medical patch;
- Realize a proof-of-concept biodegradable/compostable medical patch.
- A Master's degree;
- Experience with LCA methodologies;
- Practical experience with modelling and simulation software, such as MATLAB or Python.
As a PhD researcher at TNO, you will have the opportunity to work on a challenging and varied project with a real impact.
