Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team at TU Delft. As a PhD researcher, you will work on the development of innovative tidal park designs that can effectively mitigate the impacts of sediment dynamics in the lower Rhine-Meuse estuary.

Research Focus

Your research will focus on the development of new tidal park designs that can efficiently manage sediment flows and reduce the risk of erosion and flooding in the estuary. You will work closely with our team of researchers and engineers to develop and test new design concepts, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that your research is relevant and applicable to real-world problems.

Requirements
  • You have a strong background in physical geography, geology, or a related field, with a focus on sediment dynamics and coastal engineering.
  • You have excellent research and analytical skills, with experience in data analysis and modeling.
  • You are able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • You are fluent in English and have a strong command of Dutch.
